# UmiLab — Claim status without the payer portals

> UmiLab checks claim status across payers, sorts each claim into a
> plain-English category, and returns a list your billing team can work
> from a spreadsheet.

## How it works

1. **Bring your claim list.** Upload a CSV or XLSX: payer, claim ID,
billed amount, and the dates you already track.
2. **We check each payer.** UmiLab runs status requests and records what
each payer reports, with the response date.
3. **Work one sorted list.** Action-needed claims first. Export back to
   spreadsheet when done.

## One category per claim

- **Needs action** — payer asked for info or denied the claim.
- **Waiting on payer** — received, still in process.
- **Closed** — paid or resolved, as reported.

## Who it's for

- **RCM managers** — one list of what to work next, by payer and by age.
- **Billing companies** — status across payers for multiple practices,
ready to assign and follow up.
- **Spreadsheet-first teams** — your file goes in, an updated file comes
out. No new workflow to learn.

## FAQ

**Does UmiLab replace our billing system or clearinghouse?**
No. It sits alongside them and works from the claim list you already have.

**Which payers are covered?**
Bring your payer list to the demo and we will tell you what is covered
before anything else happens.

**How much does it cost?**
We don't publish pricing. Scope and cost are part of the demo
conversation. See https://www.umilab.ai/pricing.

**Who is it not for?**
Patients checking a single bill, or teams billing outside the US
healthcare system.
